01In short

Our Services involve professional time and non-refundable government charges, so refunds are limited. Cancel before we start work and you get a full refund of our service fee. Once work has started, refunds are partial or unavailable, and statutory fees already paid cannot be returned.

02Scope

This Policy applies to all Services purchased through efiletax.in, operated by Starkbros Consultancy Private Limited. Read it together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

03Why refunds are limited

We provide professional and digital compliance services — income-tax, GST, TDS, ROC/MCA and accounting filings and advisory. These involve human effort, third-party professionals, and statutory fees paid to government authorities that cannot be recovered once paid.

04Cancelling an order

  • Before work begins — cancel before we start preparing your filing or engage a professional, and you receive a full refund of the service fee paid to us.
  • After work begins — once we have collected documents, prepared computations or initiated a filing, cancellation attracts a deduction reflecting the work already done. Refunds may be partial or unavailable.
  • After completion — once a Service is complete or a filing has been submitted to the authority, the service fee is non-refundable.

05What is never refundable

Once incurred, these amounts cannot be refunded:

  • Government fees, statutory charges, stamp duty, ROC and MCA fees, and portal charges.
  • Third-party costs such as Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) charges and payment-gateway fees.
  • Taxes, including GST, already paid to the authorities on the transaction, except where the law requires otherwise.
  • Fees for Services already rendered or substantially completed.

06When a refund is not available

  • Delay or rejection caused by inaccurate, incomplete or false information or documents you provided.
  • Delay, downtime, rejection or a change in procedure at a government portal or third party.
  • Failure to provide required documents, approvals or e-verification within a reasonable time despite reminders.
  • Change of mind after a Service has been substantially performed.
  • Outcomes such as a lower refund, a demand, a notice or non-approval by an authority — these depend on your facts and the law, not on our effort.

07Failed, duplicate or excess payments

If a payment fails but the amount is debited, or you are charged more than once for the same order, we refund the excess to the original payment method after verification. Report it to support@efiletax.in with the transaction details.

08How to request a refund

Email support@efiletax.in from your registered email address with your order or reference number and the reason for the request. We may ask for further details to verify it.

09Processing and timelines

  • We review and respond to refund requests within 7 working days of receiving all required details.
  • Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method. Your bank or payment provider may take a further 5–10 working days for it to appear.
  • We keep you informed of the status throughout.

10Discretionary refunds

Nothing here stops us from granting a refund or credit at our discretion as a goodwill gesture. Any such refund is decided case by case and does not oblige us to do the same in future.
